There are four BDCAs and, of these four, three BDCAs react with different types of DC in the peripheral blood. BDCA-2 and BDCA-4 are detected on precursors of pDC (CD11c−, CD123+ subset of PBDC), whereas BDCA-3 binds to precursors of myeloid DC of the peripheral blood (CD11c+, CD123− subset).
