On the other hand, I was convinced that I had made it as far as I had at least in part due to my dedication in giving my body those extra vitamins it so desperately craved. I felt so strongly about my stance that I eventually threatened to check myself out of the hospital if I were not given permission to continue with my well-engrained routine. Thankfully, the hospital finally relented and agreed to the vitamins. That small victory was a momentary bright spot in an otherwise bleak and lonely week.
